The Edge of Spring

As stated before Eliza and I don't half fancy ourselves as Edge of Love style heroines  (floaty floral, frilly blouses, thick knits and wellies complete with chunky sock) so with all the feminine styles re-emerging I decided to see what Mina had to offer up for SS 10. Until the sun decides to join the party we can indulge our fancy further by adding steamed stockings, victory rolls and let's not forget the pouting.

Something For The Weekend #19

Something about yesterdays  Lou Doillon video reminded me of this. Written and starring  Tamara Levinson, directed by Daniel 'Cloud' Campos (that amazing dancer in Shakira's 'Did It Again' video) this video has an almost Chris Cunningham-esque quality. (Okay maybe I'm not the best person to comment on Cunningham's style as when  dragged to one of his sets it was mostly viewed through clenched fingers, when it got to baby alien foetus bit Eliza and I ran outta there leaving the boys behind).

This video though I can watch. I can almost feel it. We all have something that makes our essence, something that fastens our soul to our bones and ties us in with the world around us; for me it's dance.

Inspired by a line from the Bruce Weber for YSL film "Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing";

"If you don't wanna be nude, wear a suit."

 I decided to take a look at suits this week. Ask any girl and she'll tell you that nothing becomes the male stature more than the classic suit. With the suit comes a authority air of experience, of charisma and of time old favourite 'sophistication' When buying a suit do not scrimp, invest invest invest! One good suit can save the world; wear a good suit and the world will listen, wear a good suit and the world will follow (not even Geldof hair could stop you).

So I'm beginning to feel like a tiger in a cage, I need to get out into the great wide open.
